Kennedy Town Footbridge

The footbridge provides the pedestrian link across a steep hill between the two areas; the lower area near the harbor, and the upper area that have been identified for the large public housing project and the bridge will form the main access route when the housing development have been completed. The bridge design negotiates various level changes with two lift towers and elevated walkway with design features to integrate vertical greenery to complement surrounding context while maintaining amenity to adjacent neighboring properties.

To meet the strict requirement of the Highway Department, the design of the bridge adopts simple and robust detail design with consideration for progression of spatial experiences for the passengers including vantage point at the upper lift lobby with views across the Victoria harbor with skylights and integration of expansive climber plants to provide shading and inject the colors and fragrant element to the otherwise highly functional infrastructure.
